Finance Minister Reviews FBR’s Revenue Collection, Urges Further Reforms

Islamabad, In a concerted effort to bolster the nation’s financial health, Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Mr. Muhammad Aurangzeb visited the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Headquarters to evaluate the board’s revenue collection performance and discuss future strategies to enhance efficiency.

According to Federal Board of Revenue, the visit featured a comprehensive review session where FBR Chairman Malik Amjed Zubair Tiwana and other board members presented their recent achievements and ongoing challenges in revenue collection. The briefing highlighted FBR’s success in meeting its cumulative revenue target for the initial eight months of the current fiscal year, with a steadfast commitment to reaching the annual objectives.

During the meeting, Minister Aurangzeb commended the FBR team for their dedication to achieving set targets and emphasized the need for accelerating reforms, particularly focusing on the digitization of FBR processes to boost performance and revenue outcomes. He stressed the importance of establishing a transparent tax collection mechanism and pledged full support to the FBR personnel in fulfilling their responsibilities. The Minister’s directives also included enhancing efforts to tap into the country’s true tax potential, indicating a strategic approach towards sustainable financial growth.
