Government Imposes Drone Ban During Muharram Processions Nationwide

Islamabad: In a move to enhance security during the upcoming Muharram processions, the government has announced a ban on the use of drones throughout the country. The decision, aimed at maintaining public safety and order during this significant period, was finalized in a meeting chaired by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the prohibition on drone cameras will be effective from the first to the tenth of Muharram. Additionally, decisions regarding the suspension of internet or mobile phone services during this period will be made in consultation with provincial authorities, based on the evaluation of security needs.

Interior Minister Naqvi assured that the Federal Government would provide full cooperation to all provinces, including Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan, and Islamabad, to support the enforcement of law and order. The meeting also included briefings by respective Inspectors General of Police and Home Secretaries, who outlined the comprehensive security plans prepared for Muharram.
