Govt committed to introduce electronic voting machine: Imran Khan

Prime Minister Imran Khan says the government is committed to introduce electronic voting machine to ensure transparency in the elections.

Speaking at a briefing regarding progress on manufacturing of electronic voting machine in Islamabad today (Wednesday), he directed to introduce modern security features in the proposed machine.

The Prime Minister said in the view of past experiences, it is in the interest of democracy and the country to use electronic voting machine in election process.

The meeting was briefed that electronic voting machine will help to make the voting process transparent and fair and it will also secure results.

The Prime Minister was apprised that Ministry of Science and Technology, COMSATS and NIE have jointly manufactured a machine which has been tested with encouraging results.
