Karachi, In a recent communication with the Securities Exchange Commission of Pakistan, Haseeb Waqas Sugar Mills Limited has sought an extension for holding its Annual General Meeting (AGM). The company has applied for a 30-day extension under Section 132 of the Companies Act 2017.
The application detailed the company’s inability to hold the AGM by the initially scheduled date of January 27, 2024. The reason cited for this delay is the absence of the engagement partner, who is currently out of the country and unable to review and sign the audit report. This has necessitated the postponement of the AGM, originally intended to discuss and lay down the audited accounts for the year ended September 30, 2023.
Haseeb Waqas Sugar Mills Limited, with its head office in Lahore, has completed all necessary formalities for the application, including the submission of an affidavit by the Company Secretary, Ansar Ahmad. The affidavit confirms the contents of the application and the reasons for the requested extension.
The company has also complied with the regulatory requirements for the application, including payment of the prescribed fee to the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan. The extension, if granted, will allow the company to complete its audit process and hold the AGM at a later date.
