Hub Officials Address Water Supply Issues and Theft in Industrial District

Hub, In a meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner Hub Ruhana Gul Kakar, local authorities discussed critical challenges related to the supply of clean drinking water and the ongoing theft of water from the irrigation canal in the Hub Gadani industrial district.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the meeting, which included officials such as Tehsildar Gadani Maqbool Sasoli and Executive Engineer PHE, focused on the urgent need to restore canal water supply from the dam to alleviate the water supply difficulties faced by the citizens. It was reported that despite sufficient water storage in the Hub Dam, maintenance activities by the Irrigation Department during summer have led to supply disruptions.

The meeting also addressed the illegal activities of the tanker mafia, which has been involved in stealing canal water. Authorities planned coordinated actions to restore water supply to the Public Health Engineering (PHE) ponds and initiate a rigorous crackdown on illegal hydrants and water tankers transporting water to Karachi.
