IIOJK Authorities Mandate Government Employee Attendance at Indian Independence Day Events

Srinagar: In response to a widespread boycott by the local population of Indian Independence Day celebrations in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, authorities have mandated all government employees in Srinagar and Jammu to attend the main events scheduled for August 15.

According to Kashmir Media Service, a directive from the General Administration Department requires participation in the Independence Day functions at Bakshi Stadium in Srinagar and Maulana Azad Stadium in Jammu as part of official duties. This order applies to all officers and officials, including administrative secretaries, department heads, and executives of public sector undertakings, who are also tasked with ensuring their staff’s compliance.

The enforcement of this mandate aims to secure a significant presence at the celebrations, countering the general disinterest and ongoing boycotts by the Kashmiri populace. This approach by the IIOJK authorities seeks to display an image of unity and celebration amidst significant local opposition.
