New delhi: India is deploying twenty new battalions of the Central Reserve Police Force in Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Radio Pakistan, the move aims to strengthen India’s hold over the occupied territory. The new battalions demonstrate India’s concerns over potential prolonged resistance from the local population.
Despite nearly one million troops already stationed in the territory, the Modi regime continues to rely on militarization rather than resolving the Kashmir dispute through the implementation of UN resolutions.
In tandem with its military buildup, the occupation regime, led by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, has seized three more civilian properties in Budgam under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. Police have also confiscated two houses and agricultural land belonging to local residents.
Meanwhile, All Parties Hurriyat Conference spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas issued a statement in Srinagar condemning the confiscations. He described the move as part of a broader strategy by the Modi regime to alter Kashmir’s demographic structure.
