India has no right to celebrate its Republic Day in IOK: Moosvi

Srinagar, January 25, 2019 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, senior leader of the All Parties Hurriyat leader, Agha Syed Hasan Al-Moosvi Al-Safvi has said that India has no right to celebrate its Republic Day in Kashmir as it has resorted to atrocities and let loose a reign of terror across Kashmir Valley. Agha Syed Hasan Al-Moosvi Al-Safvi in a statement in Srinagar said India claims to be a large democracy in the world but virtually stands exposed in Kashmir where it has been trampling all basic and fundamental rights for last over seven decades.

He said people are left at the mercy of military regime, which kills common people in custody. He said showering bullets and pellets on peaceful protesters have become a routine matter in the territory. This, he said, has left thousands of Kashmiris maimed, disabled, blind and half dead.

He said, “We have no animosity with India or its people and they have every right to celebrate their Republic Day within Indian states, but despite New Delhi’s rhetoric about democracy it has no moral and legal right to celebrate it in the internationally recognized disputed territory of Jammu and Kashmir.”
