India Redeploys BSF Battalions from Odisha to Jammu Amid Security Concerns

New Delhi: In response to recent security challenges, the Indian government has relocated two Border Security Force (BSF) battalions, totaling over 2,000 personnel, from Odisha to the Jammu region along the volatile India-Pakistan border.

According to Kashmir Media Service, this strategic move comes after a series of attacks in Jammu, prompting officials to strengthen the military presence in the area. The redeployed units, previously part of the anti-Naxal operations in Odisha, will now be positioned in Samba and along the Jammu-Punjab border.

A senior officer, who preferred to remain unnamed, indicated that recent high-level security meetings in New Delhi and Jammu led to the decision to enhance BSF deployment in the region. The reinforcement aims to bolster defenses and ensure greater security along the critical border area.
