APHC Accuses BJP of Political Vengeance Against Kashmiri Hurriyat Leaders

Srinagar: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has accused India’s ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of exacting political vengeance on Kashmiri Hurriyat leaders and youths who oppose New Delhi’s control over the region.

According to Kashmir Media Service, APHC spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas detailed in a statement from Srinagar the severe measures allegedly being taken against the Kashmiri population, including killings, arrests, and torture, all aimed at stifling their calls for self-determination. Minhas condemned the ongoing detention of prominent Hurriyat leaders such as Masarrat Aalam Butt, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, and Muhammad Yasin Malik, among others, describing these actions as part of a broader strategy of repression using colonial-era tactics.

Despite the harsh conditions and continued suppression, the APHC reaffirms that the resolve of Hurriyat leaders remains unbroken. They continue to lead the freedom movement, aspiring to bring it to a successful resolution. The organization underscores that no amount of adversity has been able to deter these leaders from their path toward what they claim as a rightful and just cause.
