Indian Army Hawaldar Commits Suicide in Kishtwar, Totaling 603 Military Deaths Since 2007

Jammu: An Indian army hawaldar has taken his own life in the Kishtwar district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), marking a troubling continuation of suicides among Indian armed forces personnel in the region.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Hawaldar S. J. Rao from the 11 Rashtriya Rifles committed suicide by using his service rifle at the camp located in the Mughal Maidan area. This latest tragedy brings the total number of similar incidents involving Indian forces’ personnel to 603 since January 2007 within IIOJK.

The persistent occurrence of such incidents raises concerns regarding the mental health and working conditions of military personnel stationed in conflict zones.
