Indian Army Major Commits Suicide in Jammu District

Jammu, An Indian army Major, identified as Mubarak Singh Padda, took his own life in the Akhnoor area of Jammu district in what is referred to as Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). This incident adds to a troubling trend of suicides among Indian military and police personnel in the region.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Padda, originally from Jalandhar, Punjab, locked himself in a room and fatally shot himself. Despite immediate efforts to save him, he succumbed to his injuries at Udhampur Command Hospital. This tragic event marks the 601st such death among Indian troops and police personnel in IIOJK since January 2007, highlighting ongoing concerns regarding the mental health and well-being of those stationed in the region.
