Lahore, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has reiterated his government’s commitment to overcoming the economic challenges facing Pakistan, promising to accelerate the country’s development trajectory. This pledge was made during his address at the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) Central Council meeting in Lahore.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Prime Minister highlighted the severe economic difficulties Pakistan faces but assured that his administration is resolute in its efforts to foster rapid economic growth. Reflecting on the accomplishments of Nawaz Sharif, the PML-N Quaid, Shehbaz Sharif credited his predecessor with initiating significant developmental projects, including those under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor valued at twenty-three billion dollars.
Shehbaz Sharif underscored the achievements of previous PML-N governments, such as eradicating power load shedding and enhancing Pakistan’s foreign relations. He praised Nawaz Sharif’s leadership for achieving a GDP growth rate of nearly six to seven percent and advancing Pakistan’s nuclear capabilities amidst international pressure and sanctions.
Additionally, the Prime Minister expressed gratitude towards Nawaz Sharif for his historical contributions and enduring the challenges of past administrations. He also thanked party members for supporting his leadership as the Acting President of PML-N.
On the same occasion, Nawaz Sharif reflected on his tenure, lamenting his disqualification and the subsequent impact on the country’s progress, which he attributed to a conspiracy. He lauded the current Prime Minister’s efforts in significantly reducing inflation and commended the government’s serious dedication to improving the nation’s economic condition.
