Indian Forces Conduct Extensive Search Operations in Kashmir

Srinagar, Indian security forces have initiated widespread cordon and search operations (CASOs) across various districts of Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), escalating tensions in the region.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the operations involve troops and paramilitary forces and are concentrated in the districts of Poonch, Rajouri, Doda, Kathua, Samba, Bandipora, Shopian, and Islamabad. These actions are part of a broader crackdown that reportedly targets youth and women under the guise of flushing out liberation activists.

The operations have been marked by arrests, interrogations, and reported harassment, intensifying the climate of fear among the local population. Specific areas such as Bhaderwah, Marmat, Jarra Wali Gali, and others have seen continued military activity, affecting daily life and raising human rights concerns.
