Indian police arrest two more innocent Kashmiris in Srinagar

Srinagar, May 16, 2023 (PPI-OT): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Indian police have arrested two more innocent Kashmiris – both residents of Srinagar. The police claimed that the civilians, Javaid Butt and Zahoor Ahmed Butt, were arrested by Delhi-controlled State Investigating Agency (SIA). The announcement in this regard was made by Special Director General of Police (CID), RR Swain, at a press conference at police control room (PCR) in Srinagar, today.

The police are implicating these civilians in the killing of prominent Hurriyat leader, Mirwaiz Molvi Muhammad Farooq. However, the fact is that he was assassinated by Indian Army’s agents after barging into his residence in Nigeen area of Srinagar on May 21, 1990. As per the Islamic calendar, he was martyred on this day (25 Shawwal, 1411 AH), 33 years ago.
