India’s muscular approach cannot intimidate Kashmiris into submission: Gilani

Srinagar, March 27, 2019 (PPI-OT):In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Gilani, terming the Kashmir dispute a reality like Himalaya has said that India’s muscular approach can never force the Kashmiris into submission.

Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar said, Indian rulers and their stooges in occupied Kashmir should bear it in mind that their muscular approach can never force the Kashmiris into submission and curbing the political space and arresting the political leadership in forged and fake charges and creating fear-psychoses cannot lease them forever.

He strongly denounced the statements issued by India’s National Investigation Agency (NIA) and Enforcement Directorate (ED) that the properties belonging to illegally detained Hurriyat leaders, Altaf Ahmed Shah, Ayaz Akbar, Peer Saifullah, Raja Merajuddin Kalwal, Shahid-ul-Islam and Farooq Ahmed Dar and prominent Kashmiri businessman, Zahoor Ahmed Watali, lodged in New Delhi’s Tihar Jail would be seized. “People are well aware about the intention and mindset behind leveling wild and unfounded allegations against these incarcerated leaders and businessman by the Indian agencies. They know it is propaganda by Indian rulers aimed at gratifying their vote bank and as long as Kashmiris are hit hard, the power-thirsty forces are guaranteed to stay in power,” he said.

The APHC Chairman pointed out that New Delhi is using the NIA and ED as a tool of oppression and suppression against the Kashmiris and their political opponents. The Government of India is very well aware about the fact that Hurriyat leaders have not amassed any illegal wealth but claiming to seize the property at the time of election in India has put a big question mark on the competence and efficiency of their much hyped investigating institutions, he added.

Syed Ali Gilani said that in a bid to win the forthcoming elections, Narendra Modi claimed that his government conducted airstrikes in Pakistan but when the international community, opposition and sane voices in India raised question over this claim, Indian government launched a crackdown on pro-freedom organizations, political leadership and unarmed people of Kashmir to silence its opponents.

The octogenarian leader said that majority of Indian people had been intoxicated with a venomous propaganda against the freedom movement of Kashmir and its leadership by their fascist government with the help of their hyper-national and biased media houses. “In such circumstances, it is the responsibility of Kashmir’s conscious journalists and writers to bring forth the reality of oppressed Kashmiris. It is understood that Indian propaganda takes front page headlines in Newspapers, but it is also important to highlight the sufferings and hardships of Kashmiri people at the hands of Indian troops,” he added.
