India’s Regional Ambitions Under Scrutiny Amid Allegations of Destabilizing South Asia

New Delhi: India’s aspirations for regional supremacy have reportedly been thwarted, as recent actions by the Narendra Modi-led government are said to have compromised peace in South Asia.

According to Kashmir Media Service, India’s aggressive tactics in its quest for dominance have stirred unrest and disorder across the South Asian subcontinent. Allegations suggest that India has engaged in manipulative practices not only within its borders but also in neighboring countries such as Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Myanmar, Bhutan, and the Maldives, with Bangladesh being most notably affected.

This behavior has led to widespread criticism, with incidents like the ‘India Out’ campaign in Maldives gaining significant local support, reflecting a growing regional backlash against Indian policies. Furthermore, the recent political upheaval in Bangladesh that saw the ousting of Sheikh Hasina, described as a Modi ally, is cited as a fallout from India’s alleged meddling.

The report also accuses the Modi government of exacerbating regional tensions by engaging in what it calls “state terrorism,” targeting both regional states and Indian minorities. This approach has raised serious questions about India’s role and intentions in the regional geopolitical landscape.
