Indonesian Embassy Engages with Sialkot Chamber of Commerce to Boost Trade Ties

Sialkot, In a significant diplomatic engagement, the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) hosted His Excellency Rahmat Hindiarta Kusuma, Chargé D’affaires, and Mr. Ferry J. Murdiansyah, First Secretary of Political Affairs, from the Indonesian Embassy in Pakistan on June 6, 2024. The visit focused on enhancing trade relations and exploring new business opportunities between Pakistan and Indonesia.

According to The Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Wahub Jahangir, Senior Vice President of SCCI, highlighted the deep-rooted historical and cultural connections between the two countries. He stressed the importance of creating direct links between the Indonesian private sector and Sialkot’s businesses to source high-quality Pakistani products, especially in sectors such as surgical instruments, workwear, gloves, sports goods, and sports apparel, which are in high demand in Indonesia. Mr. Jahangir also emphasized the mutual interest of both governments in strengthening bilateral relations and maximizing economic synergy, proposing an easy Visa policy to enhance people-to-people linkages, particularly for businessmen.

His Excellency Rahmat Hindiarta Kusuma acknowledged Sialkot’s diverse industrial landscape and expressed Indonesia’s view of Pakistan as a promising trade partner. He reaffirmed the historic bonds between the two nations and highlighted that stronger business relationships would significantly enhance bilateral relations. Mr. Kusuma encouraged increased interaction between businesses from both countries to facilitate collaborations and joint ventures.
