Islamabad, October 02, 2012 (PPI-OT): The Commission of Inquiry on Enforced Disappearances comprising of the former Senior Judge of Supreme Court Mr. Justice Javed Iqbal and Mr. Muhammad Sharif Virk, Member, is conducting regular proceedings of the cases of Enforced Disappearances with the assistance of Law Enforcing Agencies for tracing out the Missing Persons.
Proceedings of the Commission are being held at Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi and Quetta periodically. On 1st Jan, 2011, 138 cases of Missing Persons were pending. During the period of 1st Jan, 2011, to 30th Sep, 2012, 714 new cases were received in the Commission, by enhancing the total numbers to that of 852 out of which 313 cases have been disposed off and current balance of the cases under investigation is 539.
During the month of Sep, 2012, the proceedings were held at Islamabad in which 27 Missing Persons have been traced out. The names/parentage of these Missing Persons are Usman S/o Mir Azam Khan, Muhammad Noor S/o Ghaffar Khan, Muhammad Ibrahim S/o Abdul Qudoos, Dost Muhammad S/o Abdul Mateen, Fareed Khan, Tahira Fareed, Farishta Bibi, Tahir Abbas S/o Manzoor Hussain Baloch, Zohaib S/o Alao-al-Din, Mohib Ullah S/o Yarbet Khan, Ashiq-ud-Din S/o Umer Hayat Khan (Late), Muhammad Zeeshan S/o Ch. Muhammad Siddique, Zar Wali S/o Sher Muhammad, Bahadur Shah S/o Muhammad Ramazan, Muhammad Shahzad S/o Muhammad Lal, Saleem Ullah S/o Atta Ullah Saddique, Azeem Ullah @ Abdul Rahim S/o Muhammad Ashraf, Syed Najeeb Ullah S/o Haji Niamat Ullah, Muhammad Waqas S/o Muhammad Younus, Uzair Ahmed S/o Zahid Hussain, Zafar Iqbal S/o Fateh Khan, Ashiq Hussain S/o Altaf Hussain, Muhammad Zaman Afridi s/o Zar Badshaha, Shaukat Hayat S/o Amir Hassan Khan, Mirza Muhkam Din, Sultan S/o Nabi Khan and Allah Ditta s/o Ghulam Haider.
