Islamabad conference urges world to take notice of HR abuses in IOK

Islamabad, December 01, 2013 (PPI-OT): Speakers at a conference in Islamabad, today, appealed to the international community to take cognisance of gross human rights violations perpetrated by Indian troops in occupied Kashmir.

The conference was organized by the Kashmir Women Forum in collaboration with International Muslim Women Union at Kashmir House in Islamabad. It was attended by the representatives of different women organizations of twenty-one countries. The speakers included senior minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Chaudhry Muhammad Yasin, Chairperson of Islamic Women Union, Dr Kausar Firdous and the Chairperson of Kashmir Women Forum, Shamim Shawl.

A resolution passed on the occasion, demanded withdrawal of Indian troops, repeal draconian laws from occupied Kashmir and release of all illegally detained Kashmiris besides restoration of all fundamental freedoms of the people of occupied territory.
