Islamabad: In a significant crackdown, the Islamabad Police have apprehended four members of a notorious gang involved in numerous looting and snatching incidents across the city, as per the Public Relations Officer of the Islamabad Police.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, the operation was conducted by the Noon police station team under the directives of Inspector General of Police Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, who has spearheaded efforts to intensify actions against criminal activities. The successful arrests were the result of utilizing both technical surveillance and ground intelligence.
The apprehended individuals, identified as Shamsher, Waheed Gul, Farhad Gul, and Hayat Khan, were caught with two loader rickshaws, a motorbike, and various weapons, all of which are believed to have been used in their criminal enterprises. A formal case has been registered, and further investigations are underway to uncover additional aspects of their operations.
DIG Islamabad Syed Ali Raza emphasized the commitment of the police force to ensuring the safety and security of the public, encouraging citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities through the emergency helpline “Pucar-15” or the “ICT-15” app.
