Islamabad Police Chief Directs Enhanced Crime Control Measures

Islamabad, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi recently led a pivotal meeting with Sub-Divisional Police Officers (SDPOs) at the Central Police Office, focusing on crime prevention and enhancing investigative effectiveness within the capital.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, IGP Rizvi assessed the performance of the SDPOs and issued directives aimed at bolstering law enforcement activities. He underscored the critical role of supervisory officers in crime prevention and insisted on concrete actions against absconders and improved collaboration with Safe City initiatives to control crime. Rizvi expressed concerns over investigative delays and unresolved cases, mandating close monitoring and thorough scrutiny of weak investigations to ensure no case in Islamabad remains unresolved.

The IGP emphasized the importance of maintaining law and order free from personal influence, highlighting the accountability of all ranks, from DIGs to SSPs, in their respective roles. He called for enhanced night patrolling, a zero-tolerance approach towards social and moral crimes, and the prevention of drug trafficking and beggary in the city.

Furthermore, Rizvi outlined plans for large-scale search operations and strict enforcement against drugs and gambling. SSP Operations has been tasked with conducting two “Khuli Kachehris” weekly, focusing on addressing issues related to drug peddlers and professional beggars, with patrols scheduled from 7:00 PM to 2:00 AM to ensure these activities are curtailed.

The meeting also touched on the importance of maintaining professional relations with the media, emphasizing respect and proper addressal across all ranks, from constables to the IGP, starting immediately. These measures reflect a comprehensive strategy to enhance the effectiveness of Islamabad’s police force in maintaining public safety and order.
