Islamabad, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, conducted an online public forum, termed ‘Khuli Kachehri,’ to directly address the grievances of the city’s residents, ranging from crime to police conduct.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, the session, which took place between 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. on Friday, allowed citizens to voice their concerns directly to the IGP via a designated telephone number. Additional IG Operations also participated, marking issues for immediate action by senior police officers. Complaints included delays in FIR registration, incomplete investigations, personal disputes, and property crimes.
IGP Rizvi emphasized the police’s commitment to resolving these issues promptly, stating that delays and inefficiencies would not be tolerated. He highlighted the force’s focus on tackling land grabbing, professional begging, and increasing robberies through intensified patrolling and strategic measures.
Rizvi also declared a zero-tolerance policy towards the land mafia, drug dealers, and extortionists, reflecting ongoing efforts to cleanse the city of criminal elements. He reiterated the importance of the ‘No to Drugs’ campaign, underscoring the necessity to shield the youth from substance abuse.
The online forum also served as a platform for Rizvi to affirm the integrity of the Islamabad Police, recognizing it as a force composed of martyrs and heroes. He assured that any corrupt activities within the police would be met with strict disciplinary actions.
The initiative was well-received by the public on social media, with many appreciating the opportunity for direct interaction with law enforcement leaders. Rizvi concluded by stressing that such engagements are crucial for bridging the gap between the police and the community, ensuring that public complaints are addressed swiftly and effectively.
