World Intellectual Property Day Celebrated in Islamabad with Focus on Innovation and SDGs

Islamabad, Today marks the observance of World Intellectual Property Day, with this year’s theme being “IP and SDGs: Building Our Common Future with Innovation and Creativity.”

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, a news conference was held in Islamabad where Chairman of the Intellectual Property Organization Pakistan, Farukh Amil, highlighted the essential role of intellectual property in advancing innovation and creativity across various sectors. He underscored the importance of IP in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and fostering a collaborative environment for sustainable development.

Director General of IPO Pakistan, Shazia Adnan, also spoke at the event, detailing the organization’s plans to host a series of events and workshops throughout the year. These initiatives aim to educate and engage stakeholders on the intersections of intellectual property rights and sustainable development, emphasizing how intellectual property frameworks can be leveraged to fuel economic growth, environmental sustainability, and societal well-being.

The celebration of World Intellectual Property Day serves as a reminder of the potential that intellectual property laws have in driving innovation and creativity, essential for addressing global challenges and achieving a sustainable future.
