Islamabad police foil attempt to smuggle 40 kg hashish

Islamabad: Tarnol police Islamabad on Saturday impounded a vehicle near motorway chowk and recovered 40 kilogram hashish from it besides arresting a car occupant trying to smuggle it to the down parts of the country, a police spokesman said.

According to details, SP (Saddar) Sajid Kiani directed Station House Officer Tarnol police station Sub-Inspector Fazal ur Rehman to maintain high vigilance in the area especially at the exit and entry points of the city.

Following these direction, a special team headed by him including Constables Mujahid, Arshad, Zeeshan and others was constituted for strict patrolling which succeeded to intercept a car (RNE-2131) near motorway chowk and recovered 40 kilogram hashish from it.

The hashish was hidden in the petrol tank and also under the rear seat of the car. IGP Islamabad Bani Amin Khan and SSP Islamabad Malik Muhammad Yousuf have appreciated this performance of Tarnol police team and announced cash prizes as well as commendation certificates for the members of police team.
