Jahangir Siddiqui & Co. Ltd. to hold Extraordinary General Meeting on May 25, 2023

Karachi, Jahangir Siddiqui & Co. Ltd. (JSCL) has announced that it will hold an Extraordinary General Meeting on May 25, 2023. The agenda of the meeting includes several resolutions related to the subscription of right shares left unsubscribed by the public shareholders of JSBL, a subsidiary of JSCL.

The first resolution proposes that the company submit a formal application to the State Bank of Pakistan for its approval to subscribe to and take up such right shares. The second resolution stipulates that, subject to all corporate and regulatory approvals, all formalities related to the deposit and freezing of the additional right shares of JSBL be fulfilled in accordance with the applicable laws.

The third resolution authorizes the Chief Executive Officer and the Chief Financial Officer to take all necessary legal, corporate, and procedural steps in connection with the above resolutions, including dissemination of material information to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), fulfilling all reporting and disclosure requirements, and submitting all applications to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), Central Depository Company (CDC), and other organizations as required.

The Notice of General Meeting, along with a form of proxy, is available on the company’s website. The Share Transfer Books of the company will be closed from May 18, 2023, to May 25, 2023, for determining the entitlement of ordinary shareholders to attend and vote at the General Meeting.
