JazzCash Introduces Buy Now, Pay Later for Fashion and Tech Enthusiasts

Islamabad: JazzCash, a prominent fintech platform in Pakistan, has rolled out a Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) service, offering an alternative to traditional credit cards. Initially available for purchases from the electronics retailer Telemart and fashion brand EGO, the service will soon expand to other brands, including MBasics, Alkaram, and Dune London.

According to Jazz Pakistan, the BNPL service is designed to help consumers manage their budgets by allowing payments in three instalments over 60 days through JazzCash. This initiative aims to enhance the shopping experience for the platform’s 45 million users while offering partner brands an opportunity to increase revenue and customer base. Aamir Aftab, Chief Product Officer at JazzCash, emphasized the goal of providing innovative financial solutions tailored to the Pakistani market.

The BNPL service stands out from traditional credit products as it does not require employment history or a formal bank account, thus making it accessible to the unbanked population. Customers can utilize the service by scanning a QR code at the point of sale, with a 15% service fee at checkout and a 10% penalty for delayed second or third instalments.

JazzCash’s commitment to innovation has contributed to significant business growth, with a reported 58% increase in transaction value in 2024, driven largely by digital payments. The introduction of BNPL further solidifies JazzCash’s leadership in the fintech industry in Pakistan.
