Karachi Chamber of Commerce demands to withdraw the FIRs

Islamabad: Chairman, Businessmen Group and former President Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), Siraj Kassam Teli, Vice Chairmen and former Presidents-KCCI, Tahir Khaliq, Muhammad Zubair Motiwala, Haroon Farooki, Anjum Nisar, President Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mian Abrar Ahmad, Senior Vice President Younus Muhammad Bashir, Vice President Zia Ahmed Khan and Managing Committee Members are shocked to note that an FIR has been registered against the President of Lahore Chamber Irfan Qaiser Sheikh, Senior Vice President Kashif Younis and other members of the business community who demonstrated against the gas closure to the industry.

KCCI demands to withdraw the FIRs lodged against the President LCCI and others. KCCI stated that it is the responsibility of the Presidents of Chambers to raise voice to protect the lawful rights of their members and demand satisfactory solutions to the problems confronting the trade and industry. KCCI said that it is the responsibility of the Government to ensure protection of the legal and lawful rights of traders and industrialists and address their genuine problems.

KCCI articulated that the role of the Government and its departments should be incentivising rather penalizing. KCCI expressed solidarity with the President and Office Bearers of Lahore Chamber and deplored the action and misuse of power by the concerned department and demanded to withdraw FIRs immediately.
