They reviewed the progress and challenges of the K-IV project, including its Augmentation and Mainstream works. Financial and environmental assessments were discussed, with a focus on securing a total of Rs 126 billion from federal allocations and addressing the cost increase justifications.
The K-IV project, a multifaceted initiative involving the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board, World Bank, and Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, aims to enhance Karachi’s water supply. The Chief Minister set a timeline for critical components of the project and discussed the lining of the Kalri Baghar Feeder, a key aspect of ensuring adequate water supply for the city.
