Karachi, The Karachi Institute of Health Sciences (Nursing) (KIHD) was officially inaugurated, with Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab emphasizing the dual benefits of employment and service to humanity that nursing provides. The new institute promises free nursing training and quality education for 130 students, marking a significant step in enhancing healthcare education in the city.
According to Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, Mayor Wahab, during the inauguration event, highlighted the importance of nursing globally and discussed the potential of public-private partnerships in improving medical and educational facilities in Karachi. He stressed the institute’s role in addressing the city’s and the world’s need for qualified nursing professionals.
Wahab also mentioned ongoing efforts to improve healthcare infrastructure, including plans to reactivate the nursing school at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital and to build new facilities in Orangi Town. He expressed optimism about the future of healthcare and education in Karachi, referencing the city’s increasing income under his administration and promising further actions against illegal activities to improve municipal services.
