Kashmir Resolution Crucial for South Asian Peace, Says PM Shehbaz

Dushanbe: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif of Pakistan stressed the necessity of resolving the Kashmir conflict in accordance with United Nations Security Council resolutions to foster peace in South Asia. During a joint press conference with Tajik President Emomali Rahmon, he highlighted ongoing issues in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and Gaza, and discussed bilateral cooperation prospects with Tajikistan.

According to Kashmir Media Service, PM Shehbaz Sharif condemned the ongoing oppression in IIOJK and stressed that peace in the region hinges on a fair resolution of the Kashmir issue based on UN mandates. He also discussed strengthening trade and connectivity between Pakistan and Tajikistan, reflecting on shared efforts in combating terrorism. The leaders’ meeting also touched on strategic initiatives, including the China-Tajikistan-Afghanistan corridor.
