Muzaffarabad, Uzair Ahmed Ghazali, Chairman of Pasban-e-Hurriyat Jammu Kashmir, emphasized the persistent resistance of the people in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) against the Indian military occupation. He addressed the media from the newly named District Press Club, honoring a prominent figure in the Kashmiri freedom movement.

According to Kashmir Media Service, during his talk at the District Press Club now named after Burhan Muzaffar Wani Shaheed Ghazali highlighted Wani as a symbol of the Kashmiri struggle for freedom. He commented on the significance of naming the press club after Wani, noting it as a fitting tribute to all martyrs of the Kashmir conflict.

Ghazali criticized the Indian government for its harsh measures against journalists in the occupied territory, including severe censorship and restrictions that undermine civil liberties and the freedom of expression. He mentioned the arrest of several Kashmiri journalists, including Asif Sultan, who have attempted to bring international attention to the situation in Kashmir.

Further, Ghazali called on the United Nations to actively engage with the issue of Jammu and Kashmir and reiterated the need for a fair and lasting resolution to both the Kashmir and Palestine conflicts to ensure sustainable peace in the Middle East and South Asia.
