Kashmiri martyrs’ sacrifices will not go waste: JKPM

Srinagar, February 09, 2014 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Movement (JKPM), a constituent of the All Parties Hurriyet Conference (APHC), has paid glowing tributes to the two great martyrs of the Kashmir liberation struggle, Muhammad Maqbool Butt and Muhammad Afzal Guru, on their anniversaries and said that their supreme sacrifices will not go waste. The JKPM Senior Vice Chairman, Mir Shahid Saleem, addressing party workers in Jammu said, the people of Kashmir by observing the martyrdom anniversaries of Muhammad Maqbool Butt and Muhammad Afzal Guru are reaffirming their pledge to take the martyrs’ mission to its logical conclusion.

The JKPM leader said that the best tribute to Maqbool Butt, Afzal Guru and thousands of other Kashmiri martyrs would be accomplishment of their great mission. He said that both the leaders and thousands of other martyrs were real heroes of the Kashmiri people, especially the youth.

Mir Shahid Saleem also strongly condemned the arrest spree in the occupied territory on the anniversaries of Maqbool Butt and Afzal Guru. He said, “India, after killing our innocent people snatches our right to mourn which was even more condemnable.” He said that even after using all its military might, India had failed to crush the Kashmiris’ liberation sentiment.

The meeting was also addressed by several other party activists including Abdul Hamid Khan, Ghulam Hassan Mir, Muhammad Shafi and Irshad Ahmed.
