New Delhi: Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has criticized the BJP’s approach to Jammu and Kashmir, including Ladakh, claiming it disregards the region’s cultural identity and democratic values.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Kharge pointed out the shortcomings in the Modi government’s strategy for Jammu and Kashmir. He highlighted the government’s failure to integrate the region effectively, boost economic development, or curb the freedom movement as initially claimed. The region has experienced significant violence, with 683 fatal attacks since 2019, resulting in 258 deaths, including Indian troops.
Additionally, Kharge emphasized ongoing issues such as numerous unfilled government jobs, high unemployment rates, and investments that have not been realized, painting a grim picture of the current administration’s policies in the region.
