Islamabad: Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani has emphasized that vigilance and intelligence sharing among law enforcement agencies be enhanced to ensure security of citizens. The Ministry of Interior he stated has significant responsibility in this regard.
The Prime Minister expressed these views while talking to Khawja Siddique Akber the newly appointed Secretary Interior, who called on him at PM’s House here this afternoon.
The Prime Minister stressed upon the need of better coordination among the federal and provincial security agencies as well as, capacity building through improved training programmes to meet the security challenges.
The Prime Minister it may be mentioned has appointed Khawja Siddique Akber as Secretary Interior with immediate effect. Khawja Siddique Akber it may be added was working as Secretary Minorities and Interfaith Harmony which stands devolved today.
Khawja Siddique Akber the new Secretary Interior assured the Prime Minister to work with complete devotion in accordance with his advice and guidance.
Mr. Qamar Zaman Secretary Interior has been transferred and posted as Secretary, States and Frontier Regions.
