Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Seeks to Expand Collaboration with World Food Program


Peshawar, Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sardar Ali Amin Khan Gandapur has met with a delegation from the World Food Program led by Ko Yoshimaki to discuss expanding mutual cooperation, particularly in the province’s merged districts.



According to Directorate General Information and PRs – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the meeting, held at the Chief Minister’s House in Peshawar, focused on the ongoing projects under the World Food Program in the region and explored ways to enhance the partnership in various developmental fields. The Chief Minister emphasized the need for increased support from donor organizations to help integrate these districts fully into the national framework, highlighting the priority areas of education and employment.



Gandapur outlined the provincial government’s efforts in developing infrastructure damaged during anti-terrorism operations, building farm-to-market roads to boost economic activities, and plans for food security through the construction of small dams and the introduction of modern agricultural technologies like tunnel farming.



The Chief Minister also expressed the provincial government’s interest in establishing food testing laboratories to ensure food quality, with the anticipation of further support from donor agencies. Additionally, he noted the importance of measures to protect against flood damage and to strengthen the local economy through diverse development projects.



Ko Yoshimaki, representing the World Food Program, reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to the province, noting ongoing initiatives such as providing educational scholarships to 30,000 girls in the merged districts and expressing a willingness to expand the program’s collaboration with the provincial government.
