Islamabad, August 18, 2015 (PPI-OT):Following the flash floods in Chitral, the Government of KPK and NDMA with active and forthcoming support of Pakistan Army are carrying relief activities in the area. On the request of Govt. of KPK, NDMA requisitioned two helicopters from Anti Narcotics Force to carryout relief activities in far flung and isolated areas of Chitral.
These helicopters have carried out commendable relief operations in Chitral. Till to date they have flown 59 sorties and transported 45000 kg of food items and evacuated 725 persons from various locations. These helicopters continue with their operation to alleviate the sufferings of the affectees.
