KP Government to Launch Annual Trich Mir Festival, Waives Climbing Fees

Peshawar, The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has declared its intentions to celebrate the year as “Trich Mir Year” and to inaugurate an annual Trich Mir Festival in Chitral. This announcement comes alongside decisions to waive royalty and trekking fees for mountain climbing in an effort to boost tourism and recognize Tirch Mir Pahar as a symbol of the province’s natural heritage.

According to Directorate General Information and PRs – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the initiatives were outlined in a meeting led by the Advisor on Tourism and Culture, Zahid Chanzeb, with key stakeholders in the tourism sector in attendance. The gathering, which took place in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority’s conference hall in Peshawar, included discussions on strategies to promote tourism, encourage international climbers, and resolve operational challenges faced by tour operators and tourists. The comprehensive plan aims to leverage the region’s scenic landscapes and cultural assets to attract national and international visitors, enhancing the economic and social well-being of local communities.
