KSB Pumps Company Rights Issue Declared CDS Eligible by CDC

Karachi: The Central Depository Company of Pakistan Limited (CDC) has officially declared the Letter of Rights of KSB Pumps Company Limited as eligible for inclusion in the Central Depository System (CDS), effective from July 1, 2024. This announcement follows the issuance of a formal notice by CDC on June 28, 2024, in response to KSB Pumps’ application under Regulation 8AA.1.1.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the eligibility allows the Rights Entitlements offered by KSB Pumps to be traded and managed within the CDS, facilitating smoother transactions and enhanced security for shareholders acquiring these rights. This decision comes as part of the CDC’s mandate to regulate and improve the efficiency of the securities market in Pakistan.

The declaration ensures that the Right Entitlements, which allow current shareholders to purchase additional shares often at a discount, meet the regulatory requirements set forth by the CDC. KSB Pumps Company has been directed to comply with the procedural guidelines devised by CDC to ensure the seamless integration of these entitlements into the system.

This move is expected to enhance liquidity and provide a more structured approach for current and prospective investors dealing with rights issues. KSB Pumps Company and its stakeholders are advised to make the necessary arrangements to accommodate the induction of the Rights Entitlements into the CDS as per the stipulated regulations.
