Lahore, In a performance review meeting held at the Capital City Police Headquarters, Lahore Police Chief Bilal Siddique Kamiana outlined a series of strict measures to tackle major crimes, including rape and corruption within the Cantt and Model Town Divisions.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Punjab, CCPO Kamiana emphasized adherence to the zero-tolerance policy against sexual crimes as envisioned by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif. He affirmed that efforts to bring perpetrators to justice would be intensified. Additionally, the meeting addressed the need for accountability within the police ranks, with a special audit system and internal accountability mechanisms to target corruption.
Kamiana also highlighted operational improvements, urging divisional SPs to enhance their oversight and SDPOs to ensure law-compliant field operations and police raids. He called for improved coordination among various police wings to conduct joint operations, aimed at relieving the public by cracking down on drug trafficking, motorcycle theft, and snatching.
The meeting also noted recent successes, such as the arrest of a gang by the Organized Crime Unit involved in drug trafficking. Kamiana stressed the importance of maintaining law and order and delivering justice as critical missions of the Lahore police.
High-ranking officials, including DIGs, SSPs, SPs, ASPs, Circle Officers, SHOs, and Investigation In-charges of the Cantt and Model Town Divisions, were present to discuss strategies and execution plans for the outlined objectives.
