Lahore, March 17, 2014 (PPI-OT): The Lahore Stock Exchange has scheduled to organize the Prize distribution ceremony for the winners of the Virtual Investment Competition an advanced stage of the Financial Literacy Initiative – campus outreach program in collaboration with the South Asian Federation of Exchanges and LSE on Tuesday, March 18, 2014. Chairman Primus Investment Management Ltd. Mr. Khalid Aziz Mirza, would appear as the guest of Honor at the event.
A sum of Rs 100,000 has been sponsored by the Primus Investment Ltd to be distributed amongst the top five winners. Cash prize of Rs. 50000 shall be presented to the first winner. Whereas, cash prizes of Rs. 25000, Rs. 12000, Rs. 8000 and Rs. 5000 shall be presented to the second, third, fourth and fifth winner respectively. LSE would also be distributing gifts to the remaining winners.
LSE initiated Virtual Investment Competition in order to promote student’s understanding of various financial markets available across the country. VIMC being an online trading competition allows the students to trade by using virtual set of money. Each participant received a virtual RS.1-million to build an investment portfolio while having an option to invest in various financial products .i.e. stocks, bonds, mutual funds, currencies, commodities, etc.
Virtual Investment Competition was open for the students of the participating educational institutions (PEIs) who had successfully attended the first three sessions of Campus Outreach Program under Financial Literacy Initiative.
This competition was open for thirty (30) days starting from February 1, 2014 till March 2, 2014. VIMC helped students in establishing a real sense of understanding on how to invest the available capital in various financial products in accordance with the available market information.
