Multan, Maqbool Textile Mills Limited has scheduled an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) of its shareholders on Friday, 29th March 2024, at Multan. The meeting aims to undertake significant corporate actions, including the confirmation of minutes from the last Annual General Meeting, election of directors, and discussion on the remuneration of the Chief Executive Officer and full-time working directors.
The agenda for the EGM involves confirming the minutes of the Annual General Meeting held on 28th October 2023, where previous business dealings were reviewed and discussed. A key item on the agenda is the election of ten directors for a three-year term starting from 1st April 2024, as determined by the Board of Directors in accordance with section 159 of the Companies Act, 2017. The retiring directors include Mian Tanvir Ahmad Sheikh, Mrs. Romana Tanvir Sheikh, Mian Anis Ahmad Sheikh, Mian Aziz Ahmad Sheikh, Mian Atta Shafi Tanvir Sheikh, Mian Bakhtawar Tanvir Sheikh, Mian Shafi Anis Sheikh, Maj. (Retd.) Javed Musarrat, Syed Raza Abbas Jaffery, and Mr. Tariq Rahim Anwar.
Additionally, the EGM will consider and confirm the remuneration packages for the Chief Executive Officer and the full-time working directors of Maqbool Textile Mills Limited. The meeting will also allow for the discussion of any other business that may arise, with the permission of the Chair.
Participants attending the EGM must comply with specific requirements, including the presentation of original CNIC or passports for individuals, and a Board of Directors’ resolution or power of attorney for corporate entities. Proxy attendance is facilitated under specified conditions, including attestation requirements and the provision of original identification documents at the meeting.
Furthermore, shareholders residing in cities with at least 10% of the total paid-up share capital can request video conference facilities for participation in the meeting. This request must be made to the Share Registrar at least 7 days prior to the meeting date, ensuring inclusivity and wider participation in the decision-making process.
