Massive Fire Ravages Commercial Area in Islamabad District, Srinagar

Srinagar: A significant fire erupted early Thursday morning, decimating multiple sale depots and joinery mills in the Harnag area of Khanabal, within the Islamabad district of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

According to Kashmir Media Service, the blaze caused extensive destruction, engulfing several buildings in flames. Witnesses described the scene as apocalyptic, with the fire visible from a distance and punctuated by explosions and the crackling sounds of burning wood.

The response from the Islamabad Fire Department was swift, though their efforts were complicated by narrow roads and congested conditions that hampered access to the affected area. Despite the challenges, firefighters endeavored to control the fire, but could not prevent significant damage to property and goods.

The origin of the fire is currently under investigation, with preliminary suspicions pointing to a possible electrical short circuit or a gas line rupture as potential causes. There have been no reported casualties, but the economic impact on the affected business owners is substantial.
