Islamabad, June 16, 2023 (PPI-OT): A meeting of the Pakistan-Brazil Parliamentary Friendship group with H.E Olyntho Vieira, Ambassador of Federative Republic of Brazil to Pakistan was held today, June 15, 2023 at 1200 hours at Pakistan Institute for Parliamentary Services, Islamabad. The Convener of the Group, Rana Muhammad Qasim Noon chaired the meeting. The meeting was attended by Sardar Riaz Mehmood Khan Mazari MNA, Dr. Muhammad Afzal Khan Dhandla MNA, Mr. Khalid Hussain Magsi MNA, Ms. Asiya Azeem MNA, Chaudhary Farrukh Altaf, MNA.

The Convener of the Group underscored that Pakistan and Brazil enjoyed a friendly and cordial relationship based on mutual respect and understanding. Rana Qasim Noon, while emphasizing the importance of bilateral and economic diplomacy, stressed the need to have increased people-to-people contacts in order to explore additional areas of cooperation. He said that the Parliamentary Friendship Group (PFG) provides a platform for Parliamentary exchanges which help to further strengthen bilateral relations and continued coordination between the two countries. He also called for better educational support and cooperation between the two countries.

Members of the group underscored the need for betterment of bilateral relations with a particular emphasis on trade. In this connection, the prospects and potential in the areas of livestock, Business and education was also discussed. The Convener of the Group desired that the representatives from the Business community and Chambers of Commerce may also be invited to the next meeting so that discussions could be held to put forward tangible proposals towards enhancing trade relations between the two sides.

The two sides emphasized the need for enhancing high-level exchanges which would pave the way for further deepening the bilateral ties in diverse fields.
