Metropolitan Commissioner orders suspension of officials responsible for negligence in maintenance and cleanliness at civic centre

Karachi, July 20, 2012 (PPI-OT): KMC Metropolitan Commissioner Matanat Ali Khan during a visit, issued directives to suspend the officials who would found responsible for negligence in the maintenance and cleanliness at civic center building. Metropolitan Commissioner on Friday evening visited various locations including ground floor, corridors, lawns and special counters hall at civic center with Senior Director Municipal Services Dr. Shaukat Zaman, Security and Building Maintenance incharges.

He strictly instructed to ensure proper maintenance and cleanliness work at civic center otherwise necessary actions shall be taken against concerned officers. He said that he would continue to pay sudden visits at civic center till all the orders issued in this connection are fully implemented. MC specially noticed broken, open manholes and garbage nearby lawns at civic center and directed to cover manholes completely and remove garbage immediately.

He also directed concerned officers to mend the affected parts and complete coloring work on priority basis and make arrangements to mend the chairs, fans and special counters hall for the visitors at civic center immediately.

He also directed to make arrangements for water, lights and cleanliness in toilets whereas for more planting and greenery in lawns at civic center. Metropolitan Commissioner also noticed useless vehicles of different departments at civic center and directed to send them to their concerned departments immediately.

He further said that civic center being head office of KMC, is also an important civic department where thousands of citizens visit for their different purposes on daily basis therefore civic center building should be maintained on constant basis so that visitors here feel better and would go from here with positive views.

He also instructed to put dust bins and green plants on different parts of the building to give it beautiful look. He further instructed to remove open electric and telephonic wires and put them into proper channel fittings.
