Modi Government Seizes Properties of Kashmiris in Samba District

Jammu: In a continuing crackdown, the Indian government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi has seized properties of two Muslim residents of Samba district in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, citing their alleged involvement in drug peddling.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the properties, which include two residential houses valued at over Rs 50 lakh, belong to individuals named Farman Ali and Farman Din. Indian police, confirming the seizures, labeled the two men as drug peddlers, a charge that comes amidst broader accusations of using property confiscation as a tool against those involved in the Kashmiri self-determination movement.

This pattern of property seizures follows the revocation of IIOJK’s special status, with authorities frequently confiscating assets under various pretexts, as part of efforts to suppress support for the region’s movement for self-determination recognized by the United Nations.
