Srinagar, The Grand Mufti of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Nasir-ul-Islam, announced that Muharram, the first month of the Islamic year 1446 A.H, will commence tomorrow, with Ashura to be observed on July 17.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Mufti Nasir-ul-Islam made the announcement after confirming that the crescent moon had not been sighted anywhere in the territory. He stated that Ashura, which marks the tenth day of Muharram, will fall on Wednesday, July 17. The Grand Mufti also extended his felicitations to the Muslim Ummah and prayed for sustainable peace and prosperity across the world.
