Muslim Shopkeeper Killed in Uttar Pradesh, India

Lucknow, In Uttar Pradesh, a Muslim shopkeeper was reportedly killed by individuals associated with Hindutva groups after returning from Taraweeh prayers, highlighting rising communal tensions in the region.

According to Kashmir Media Service, 35-year-old Wakil Ahmed was attacked in Bahraich City, with the incident causing widespread shock and condemnation, particularly as details emerged on social media showing the severity of the assault.

The local police, acknowledging the incident, stated that Ahmed, who ran a small business, was returning home after work when the attack occurred. The authorities have conducted a post-mortem examination, and an investigation is underway to ascertain the full circumstances of this fatal assault and to bring the perpetrators to justice.
