Pakistan and UK Discuss Strengthening Defence and Security Ties

Rawalpindi, In a meeting between British High Commissioner Jane Marriott and Pakistan’s Minister for Defence, Khawaja Muhammad Asif, both nations reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing defence and security cooperation, acknowledging the mutual benefits of their longstanding partnership.

According to Press Information Department, Minister Asif highlighted Pakistan’s valuation of its relationship with Britain, especially commending the UK’s role in the Afghan reconciliation process. The discussions aimed to sustain the Pak-UK Defence Cooperation Forum (DCF) at the ministerial level, signifying the strategic importance of the bilateral defence relationship. Both parties expressed satisfaction with the current state of cooperation and emphasized the necessity of broadening defence and security engagements to contribute further to regional stability.
