National Accountability Bureau Warns Against Impersonators Targeting Government Officials and Businessmen

Islamabad: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has issued a public warning about individuals impersonating senior NAB officials to extort money and secure illegal advantages from government officials and businessmen through various deceitful means.

According to National Accountability Bureau announcement issued on 31 July 2024, these impersonators use phone calls, SMS, WhatsApp, and fake letters among other tactics to mislead their targets. The bureau has clarified that it has no association with these fraudulent activities and communicates officially through letterheads, not via informal digital communications.

The public is urged to report any suspicious activities to NAB’s provided contact details. Legal measures have already led to the arrest of several culprits involved in such scams, as NAB intensifies efforts to curb this criminal behavior affecting the integrity of its operations.
